About

Hashiverse is a decentralized, peer-to-peer social network built as an open-source protocol rather than a product. It uses cryptographic key pairs for identity, encrypts posts at rest, and distributes data across volunteer-run nodes to eliminate central ownership, algorithmic curation, and advertising. Unlike federated alternatives like Mastodon, it aims for true decentralization where no server admin can read, suppress, or control user content.

Problem

Centralized and even federated social networks still rely on servers or companies that can censor, surveil, or shut down user accounts and content.

For

privacy-conscious users and open-web advocates seeking an alternative to corporate social networks

How it works

Users hold cryptographic key pairs on their own devices for identity, posts are signed and encrypted, and data is distributed across volunteer-run independent nodes using a proof-of-work mechanism to resist spam and attacks.
