About

Quickwit is an open-source search and analytics engine built on cloud object storage (S3, MinIO, Ceph) that delivers sub-second query performance at a fraction of traditional costs. Written in Rust and powered by Tantivy, it is optimized for log and trace data with OpenTelemetry and Jaeger support, schemaless indexing, and horizontal scalability. It can be deployed on-premise or on Kubernetes and integrates with distributed queues like Kafka and Kinesis.

Problem

Traditional search engines are expensive and hard to maintain at scale, especially for log and trace data on large volumes of raw data in cloud storage.

For

DevOps engineers and data engineers

How it works

Quickwit indexes data directly on object storage using an optimized file format and smart I/O scheduling, enabling sub-second search queries without moving data off cheap cloud storage.
